Now I know I’m a few days late on this one y’all but it was my birthday last week and I’m just now getting back into the swing of things! So for those of you who aren’t aware of who or what Colette is, the Paris-based fashion boutique has set standards for what “cool” has been for many of its shoppers the past 20 years. To give you a better understanding of Colette’s reach, once word got out of their closing, fashion websites from Vogue all the way to Austin-based sneaker company Nice Kicks, wrote articles about it.

The company was founded by Colette Roussaux in 1997. But due to age, Colette passed operations off to her daughter and head creative director Sarah Andelman. She released the above statement about their Parisian company closing its doors on December 20th via Instagram.
