For this release the OG street skater puts his spin on the iconic basketball shoes often worn by skaters in the mid 80′s by painting them like back in the day. Two mismatched pairs have been coated in black or white paint and once skated they reveal the fan favorite Bred (black and red) or Royal (black and royal) OG Jordan colorways. After a few successful retro sneaker releases including a Real Deal and Crazy 8 playing tribute to the rising star we can expect to see Lillard continue to wear adidas hoops in the foreseeable future. This includes his 2014 NBA Playoffs run and traveling the world with the brand in the off season. As Nike Basketball‘s signature athletes continue to gear up for the NBA Playoffs, Nike gets ready to drop another Elite Collection. The Nike Basketball Gold Collection will debut in stores Friday, June 6th. The pack features the usual line up of Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant’s KD VI, Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant’s Kobe 9, and of course Miami Heat’s LeBron James’ LeBron 11. All the signature models feature premium materials and the latest in Nike Basketball technology with metallic gold accents. As we watch their quest for the championship in anticipation for the release of the Nike Basketball Elite Gold Collection, we can only wait and see if this is the only gold they’ll be touting come June.
Nike Basketball unveils the latest Kobe 9 Elite HTM. A team effort by Nike CEO Mark Parker, legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, and Japanese Creative Consultant Hiroshi Fujiwara. In what was sure to be an epic meeting of the minds the three fashion icons collaborated on four special renditions of Kobe Bryant’s latest signature basketball sneaker in it’s new low top silhouette. The trio came up with four instant classic colorways, however unfortunately for Kobe fans the KOBE 9 Elite Low HTM collection will release exclusively in Italy at Nike Stadium Milano and Excelsior in Milan starting Tuesday, April 8.
Reebok Classics releases one of the first family packs of the year with the Kamikaze I. The Kamikaze I Green-Purple-Orange draws inspiration from Shawn Kemp’s 1996 All-Star appearance in San Antonio, Texas. Besides the colorway drawing reference to the historic All-Star jerseys, the shoes laces also feature and Aztec inspired pattern.
