22 years ago beefy high top basketball shoes reached the pinnacle of an era with the Nike Air Command Force towering over them all. Made famous by the San Antonio Spurs David Robinson on the hardwood, and White Men Can’t Jump’s Billy Hoyle on the big screen, the Nike Air Command Force was one sneaker that was hard to miss. Continuing the lineage of the Air Force I, Air Force II, Air Force III, Air Force STS and Air Force V, the Nike Air Command Force promised more than enough support for even the most demanding Big Man with Nike’s inflatable Air-Fit technology which promised a custom fit. Along side a new FORCE logo the Command Force also featured Nike Air in the forefoot and heel, while the predominantly white upper was offset by fluorescent splattered accents, a staple of early 90’s Nikes. Finally after a two decade hiatus Nike Sportswear is bringing back the classic sneaker in it’s original colorway with the full features in tact. Look for the Nike Air Command Force to climb into select retailers and onto Nike.com/Sportswear Saturday, October 18th for $200.
