Vans Syndicate is pleased to announce their latest collaboration with Shanghai’s primary skate and Streetwear brand Fly, by introducing the Vans Syndicate x Fly Streetwear Pack. Cricket fighting culture in China which dates back to the Song Dynasty era and remains a pastime today provides the inspiration for the collaboration, representing original street culture with a modern day angle. First the Vans Authentic model uses a camouflage grass pattern like the grass native to the cricket’s natural habitat and is used to tickle the backs of the crickets to make them fight. Next the Classic Slip-On model draws inspiration from the grey basins used to fight crickets in. Additional details include two portions of traditional text from a 12th century manual devoted to cricket fighting reproduced on the custom insoles.
