Air Jordan with New releases Coming Soon
The Jordan brand drops more beloved shoes this year with Air Jordan I and Air Jordan XXXI. Every shoe releasing this year has a significate meaning relating to MJ’s career. In 1985 Jordan had a photo shoot at a remote Oregon airstrip. The day of the shoot he chose to wear his favorite color combo blue and black. The royal blue and black Air Jordan I was the first shoe the public could purchase. Consequently, Jordan became known as the “Flight Guy.” The Air Jordan I and Air Jordan XXXI ‘Flight Guy’ will launch globally on April 1.
The new Air Jordan XXXI “Chicago” and remastered Air Jordan I “Black Toe” celebrate MJ’s love of the game and his second home. Jordan has always shown love to the city of Chicago. As a result, residents idolize him and he loved playing alongside them any chance he could. Both shoes will launch globally on November 5.
In 1985 Micheal Jordan traveled to Trieste, Italy, and treated basketball fans in the coastal town to his well known fierce and competitive attitude. This turned out to be a game anyone watching would never forget. Suddenly, he went up for the shot and the backboard glass shattered to pieces. Stay tuned for the release dates of the AJ XXXI Shattered Backboard and the AJ 1 Shattered Away.
The Air Jordan XXXI “Fine Print” is inspired by the details in Jordan’s contracts that he always made sure were there. In each contract, Michael signed, a “Love of the Game” clause. As a result, his clause gave him the right to play basketball anywhere anytime and with anyone he wanted. On the other hand, other players were not to play outside of the scheduled games to keep from hurting themselves. Jordan made sure the fine print was to his liking.
A black and red colorway violated the league’s uniform policy, earning a reprimanding letter from league officials and a $5,000 fine each time Micheal wore the shoes on court. “Around this time, if you knew anything about Nike…Nike stood on this kind of rebel behavior,” recalls Jordan Brand VP Howard “H” White. “This Jordan, that color of the Air Jordan I, kind of galvanized that universal scope.” The Air Jordan XXXI “Banned” will be available globally September 3 in select retail stores and online.
The Battle Greys signify the battle the athletes face on the court when it comes time to play. Above all, these athletes overcome critical moments and prove to be their best. The Air Jordan XXXI “Battle Grey” will be available on Jordan.com starting October 29 for $185. Stay tuned to @Jumpman23 for the latest on Jordan’s family of athletes.
