Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Classics continue their partnership. Starting off their collaboration for the new year they introduce the Club C design. The Club C Capsule will be avialbale in unisex and kid’s sizes on January 13th. Adults retail for $109.99 while kid’s styles retail $70-$50.
Lamar felt inspired from his latest album and drew on his own experiences. He added his own aesthetic and message to the classic tennis shoe. Focusing on the theme of anonymity, but also unity. Club C is making people think deeper and celebrate the artist’s ability to create art with meaning.
Throughout the shoe we see the different meanings of each detail. The mystery personality of the shoe is highlighted by the acid-washed denim and dash heel. Black and white pattern represents equality. The red label symbolizes strength and passion. Purposely hidden branding on the tongue’s interior accentuates anonymity. It forces people look beneath the surface. The highlighted “k” and “o” honors Lamar’s nickname. This gives the shoe a modest identity.
